Former minister of mineral resources Mosebenzi Zwane might be headed for the hot seat of the commission of inquiry into state capture, if the wishes of evidence leader Vincent Maleka SC are realised. Maleka called on the commission’s chairperson, Deputy Chief Justice Raymond Zondo, to consider that the time may have come for him to institute his summonsing powers to individuals who would not ordinarily volunteer their testimonies.

Women have always organised against rampant physical and sexual abuse which is common in many cultures across the world.
The advent of democracy in 1994 came with significant appointment of women in government. This was a result of powerful advocacy of women who were mobilised under the banner of the National Women’s Coalition during the transition period.
The Soul City Institute for Social Justice will be launching Not Yet Uhuru (NYU) – our digital platform for activists and a new voice for the womxn’s liberation movement in South Africa at 10:00 on Tuesday November 13, 2018. This event will be held at the iconic Constitutional Hill. This launch will trigger our 2019 General Elections advocacy campaign. We are holding this event in conjunction with our partners, TheTotalShutdown, Corruption Watch and Country Duty.
