Thabong Rise Clubs in Welkom promoting overall wellness

During the 16 Days of Activism of No Violence Against women and Children four Rise Clubs from Thabong, Welkom (Matebele, Go Getters, Future Legends and Unbeatable Flyers) decided to do something different.

They  joined hands with three Free State Working On Fire teams promoting overall wellness and the importance of keeping fit when you are HIV positive. They were hosting a Netball and Soccer tournament, held on Monday, 30 November 2015 at  Rovers Sports Grounds behind the Goldfields mall in Welkom.

Soccer outcome: The Rise clubs played against the Working on Fire Theunissen team. Theunissen WoF team won 3-1.

Netball outcome:   Netball was Rise against the Working on Fire Welkom Team. The WoF team won with a very tight score of 16-14.

Afterwards the Rise Clubs went back to the Thabong Area were they continued promoting the message of overall wellness and the importance of keeping fit, by playing various games with the vulnerable children from their Soup Kitchen for the rest of their afternoon.
