Eugene Strydom is a registered Chartered Accountant (SA) with more than 20 years of experience in senior financial management in the non-profit sector. He is also experienced in the governance of non-profit organisations (NPOs), Information Technology management, investment management and the management of procurement, contracts, human resources and facilities administration. He has successfully managed the financial aspects of several large national and international grants. Most notable of these is a DFID funded regional capacity building and Social and Behavioural Change Communication programme that spanned eight countries in Southern Africa (Budget: USD 34 million). He has managed CDC PEPFAR cooperative agreements (Combined value of USD 25 million) as well as grants from the Global Fund (Combined value of USD 23 million), and the South African Government, (Combined value of R250 million).
Eugene has previously served on the Board of Directors of WWF South Africa, the world’s leading independent conservation organisation. He also manages Soul City’s investment portfolio and serves as a non-executive director of Firefly Investments 238 (Pty) Ltd, a renewable energy operations and maintenance company.
