Neo M Matsunyane (Producer)

Neo M Matsunayane’s vast and diverse experience in entertainment includes acting, voice-over work, as well as directing for film and television. He has appeared in more than 20 television productions, taking the lead role in seven of them. These include Mmalonya 1 & 2, Kgweetsa, Class of ’92, Getting it Together, On the Right Track, Vusi the Voter, Maitemogelo and Kelebone.

Neo also took part in TV commercials and corporate videos for some of the country’s biggest retail brands like Dions, Edgars, Standard Bank and Pick ‘n Pay as well as SABC TV licence ads. On the presenting front, Neo has taken the lime light for programmes like The Toasty Show (E-TV), Turn on to English and the Five Roses Quiz.

Lwazi Noyana (Trainee Producer)

Before showing his talents as a director, the 21-year old Lwazi Noyana took the part of Thulani in Soul Buddyz. He says, “From behind the scenes Soul Buddyz gives young people an opportunity to be exposed to acting and for the audience out there it communicates important social messages.”

Currently training as a call centre agent Lwazi can answer the phone and converse with you in Xhosa, English, Tswana, Sotho or Zulu. He is an aspiring director and has directed several college plays among them, Mam’ Godessa. One of his favourite South African actors is Vusi Kunene well known for his role as Jack in Generations, while Jamie Foxx and Denzel Washington are his international heroes.

Nomsa Dladla (Soul Buddyz - Project Manager)

Currently in her final year of a BA in Communications, Nomsa Dladla has already accumulated seven years of experience in media and communications. Starting out as a volunteer for a community radio station, she became a producer and programmes manager. At Vukela productions she worked as a researcher, scriptwriter, voice over artist and radio and television producer. She was then selected for training by the Institute for the Advancement of Journalism as a freelance trainer for their Community Radio Training Project.

Some of Nomsa’s productions include talk shows for the Independent Electoral Commission Voter Awareness as well as a number of radio training programmes such as Creative Writing for Radio. In addition to project managing for Soul Buddyz 2 and 3 her experience in producing for television includes We Care – an Aids awareness programme for SABC School TV and At the End of the Tar Road, a corporate documentary. Her own writing, a story entitled His Mother’s Son was published in Drum Magazine.
