Last month, young women from around Gauteng gathered in Soweto to demand an end to violence against women. It was not the first time - nor will it be the last - that these calls have been made.
Having been a victim of abuse, my sense of cynicism is always heightened on days dedicated to reflecting on the role of women in our society and, more importantly, the reflection of what society should be doing to combat the abuse of women.
Soul City Institute is saddened by the passing on of one of our partners on the Global Fund Grant, Prudence Mabele, who was the Director of the Positive Women's Network (PWN).
