Vredenburg hosts their first Rise dialogue

Vredenburg hosted their 1st Rise dialogue on the 21st of April and they discussed rape and gender-based violence in detail. They also had a visit from Mrs Jolene Shaw from Aurora Wind power, Ms Murial Albrecht from Mfesane, a Christian development NPO working to eradicate poverty.

She led the discussions and engaged the girls through challenging them to speak out about their understanding on GBV & rape and how they felt about the effects of it within their communities. Ms Linda Gcwabe from NedBank and Ms Lebo Mokete from Arcelor Mittal, joined the dialogue and also gifted the girls with notebooks & pens. The day ended with campaign planning and idea sharing amongst the girls. Let’s continue to work hard to create safer spaces for young women and girls.
