The school was very interested in the programme and encouraged 40 girls( partially blind and have albinism) to form 2 clubs. This is our first clubs with young girls who have disability. The principal is very supportive appointed one educator to oversee the clubs.

The main purpose of the meeting:

  • was to bring clubs together so that they can share experiences and learn from one another.
  • We also invited stakeholders including the city of Tshwane Youth Desk so that they can integrate Rise programme within their programmes especially IDP. There was a representative from COT and the clubs have an opportunity to engage and ask questions related to youth programmes that they fund such as bursaries, internships and funding for Small business development.
  • We had other stakeholders such as DoH Tshwane Lovelife, SANCA and other youth organisations in the District to plan how they can work in partnership with the Rise clubs in the District.
  • Lastly clubs were also given time to plan and present activities they are going to implement in the next 3 months.
