Soul City enters a new dawn

On the 11th August, Soul City Institute for Health Communication changed to Soul City Institute for Social Justice and this was the beginning of our new and exciting journey. In its new incarnation, the Soul City Institute will continue to address social issues, now through the lens of how they impact on young women and girls, who’ve been identified as a severely at-risk population group.

The day time event was held at a cosmopolitan yet laid back venue called UrbanTREE in Sandton, Krammerville. Some of our esteemed guests included Social Development Deputy Minister Hendrietta Ipeleng Bogopane-Zulu, Gauteng Social Development HOD Shoki Tshabalala, Soul City board members and staff, former Soul City- It’s Real and Soul Buddyz actors and the new Rise Talk Show hosts just to mention a few.

As if the good food and dessert weren’t enough to keep everyone happy, Nia Pearl left the guests in awe with her powerful, sweet and melancholic voice.
