Raising Voices of Young Women and Girls

This interactive training allowed the participants to apply understanding of the concepts to real life scenarios from their environment.

One of the key component of the European Union funded programme, Raising Voices of Young Women is to train the girls who are part of the programme on the following:

  • Introduction to Gender, Power, Democracy and governance
  • Leadership and Advocacy
  • Community Based Monitoring using CEDAW framework
  • ICT for Feminist Movement Building

The 6 mentors to the 40 girls who are part of the programme also joined the training. The training was facilitated by trainers from Soul City Institute, Masimanyane and Women’s Net. It was held in over 2 weeks in October and another two weeks in November.
