Youth Leading the Conversation

The engagement brought together young people who actively participated in discussions on key issues affecting their daily lives. These included teenage pregnancy, bullying, HIV/AIDS, substance abuse, and safety. The youth were vocal in expressing the need for stronger community action and sustainable interventions to address these challenges.

A key highlight of the session was the introduction and discussion around BWise, a platform designed to provide young people with accessible information and support services. Participants were encouraged to explore how digital tools can assist them in making informed decisions about their health and wellbeing.

Soul Buddyz Club Showcases Peer Leadership

Learners from Vungela Primary School, part of the Soul Buddyz Club, played an active role in the engagement. They demonstrated strong knowledge and understanding of bullying, including its impact on mental health, school environments, and peer relationships. Their participation highlighted the importance of early youth leadership and peer education in addressing social challenges.

Strengthening Partnerships for Youth Development

The session was strengthened through the involvement of key stakeholders, including Collins Chabane Municipality, Mangulwani Traditional Council, and TP Khoza Attorneys. These partners contributed valuable insights on Youth Day, human rights, and access to justice, reinforcing the importance of multi-sectoral collaboration in addressing youth challenges.

Extending the Conversation to the Community

Following the youth session, a broader community engagement was held with parents and adults. This created an important platform for intergenerational dialogue, emphasizing shared responsibility in protecting, guiding, and supporting young people.

The Limpopo Youth Month engagement in Mangulwani Village reaffirmed the importance of listening to young people and creating inclusive spaces for dialogue and action. By bringing together youth, community members, and stakeholders, the session contributed to building stronger partnerships aimed at addressing social challenges and empowering the next generation.

Soul City remains committed to advancing youth development, promoting human rights, and ensuring that young people are equipped with the knowledge and support they need to thrive.
