Through our sessions, we are gaining deeper knowledge about mental health, sexual and reproductive health rights, and the importance of youth advocacy. Each topic helps us better understand the experiences of young people and equips us to respond with empathy and action.
One key lesson has been discovering the power of our voices. We are learning how to speak confidently about issues affecting young people and how to create safe spaces where others can share their experiences without fear or judgement. Amplifying voices isn’t just about speaking, it’s about listening, validating, and empowering others to speak up too.
Another important learning is the value of collaboration. Real impact happens when young leaders work together, support one another, and share ideas that strengthen our communities. The fellowship has shown us that change is never a solo journey, it is built on collective action.
Perhaps the most important lesson is that leadership is not about titles; it is about action, empathy, and responsibility. As FLAC Fellows, we are growing into leaders ready to advocate, educate, and inspire positive change wherever we are. Leadership is measured not by power, but by the difference we make in the lives of others.
The FLAC Fellowship is more than a programme, it is a journey of personal growth, community engagement, and transformative leadership. Every session, discussion, and experience brings us closer to becoming the young leaders our communities need.
