As part of efforts to bring health information closer to young people, B-Wise hosted a Youth Dialogue in R Section, Botshabelo, bringing together young people and local health and community stakeholders for an open conversation about their health and well-being.
The dialogue was supported by Department of Health Community Health Workers from Jazzman Clinic, as well as representatives from TAC, the SACPC Subdistrict Coordinator and a DEC member.
The dialogue provided an opportunity for young people to engage openly on issues affecting their health and to ask questions in a supportive environment.
The involvement of local healthcare workers and community stakeholders helped connect young people with trusted sources of information and highlighted the importance of knowing where and how to access available health services.
Community-based dialogues are an important way of ensuring that health information reaches young people in the spaces where they live, learn and connect.
Through initiatives such as B-Wise, young people can access information on a range of health topics and find guidance on where to seek further support.
The participation of Community Health Workers and local health stakeholders also strengthens the link between young people and the public health system, helping communities better understand and access available services.
The Botshabelo dialogue demonstrated the value of bringing young people, health workers and community stakeholders together for meaningful conversations.
When young people have access to reliable information, supportive adults and appropriate health services, they are better positioned to make informed decisions about their health and well-being.
B-Wise is committed to making health information accessible, relevant and youth-friendly.
