What the clubs do

With support from SCI through fieldworkers, mentors and Rise Magazines, young women build their own social capital, identify local social injustice and take action.

120 Rise Young women and Girls from Elliotdale, Eastern Cape embarked on a sexual harassment peaceful march on the 17th of August 2018 from 10H00 to 12H00. They marched from all corners of their schools to two main taxi ranks and to also hand over their memorandum of demands to the chairperson of Elliotdale Ncedo Taxi Association. The chairperson signed it and promised to action all 7 demands of the Rise Young woman and Girls.

When 2 children were kidnapped and later found dead, Raising Voices advocates together with the community of Emalahleni marched to the magistrate to say no to giving bail to the accused. They said they want justice, and to live in communities where they feel safe. #RaisingVoices EU in South Africa.
