Regional Cross Border Intervention

The Soul City Institutes Cross Border Intervention is a regional Social Behaviour Change Communication (SBCC) initiative reaching high risk cross-border populations in the region.

The programme targets migrant populations, sex workers and communities in key areas around the borders in southern Africa.

It aims to intensify SBCC interventions in the region as a way to strategy to accelerate HIV prevention and address SRHR priorities across the region. This in keeping with international and regional calls to accelerate HIV prevention and achieve the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs).

Soul City Institute believes that the ability of regional organisations to shape and determine their own interventions is central to sustainable development in the southern Africa region. Since inception, interest in the work of the institute extended beyond its South African borders. Soul City’s television programmes have been utilised by broadcasters across the continent and beyond. Soul City’s multimedia materials have been translated and adapted in many countries across the globe.
