SCI led a Southern African regional programme for over 10 years, strengthening the capacity of 8 partner organisations in Mozambique, Namibia, Zambia, Malawi, Lesotho, Zimbabwe, Swaziland, and Tanzania to adapt our model to prevent HIV and promote Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR). We continue, as a Regional Alliance, to work together on projects as they arise. We have also strengthened capacity of organisations globally, including in Nigeria, Palestine, Egypt, Columbia and India.
Countries in Southern Africa have political and historical connections which encourage them to work together. People travel throughout the region sharing a similar social culture therefore have comparable social challenges facing our countries.
With partnerships in countries through the SADC region, the Soul City Institute’s social and behaviour change programmes reached viewers in eight other African countries.
